Song For Elder Olsen From His Sisters

(Sung to Bless the Broken Road)

He set out on a narrow way 24 months ago
Hoping he could find lost souls and bring them back to God
Though he got down a time or two
Wiped his brow, kept pushin through
For that you really should know we are so dang proud of you

He knows Elder Henry better than anyone
He went to hot Peru and ate nothing but rice
Chiclayo we won't understand cause we weren't there to see
But this much we know is true
That God blessed the broken road that's made a man of you

We laughed about those little kids; they sure love you
We'd like to have the ones you lost and give them back to you
But you just smile and shake your head
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

He's learned to trust the Lord, never got to drive a car
Now always in his heart will be that new temple
Tupan-an-chis-kama wa wa for every week
And now we promise you
That no matter where you go your mission stays with you

Now he's finally rolling home
Calvin is in his arms
Been sick and wore out his shoes
When it comes to missions most people don't get two

We know God blessed the broken road
That's made a man of you
