Saying Goodbye Parte 2

Jan 26th

( Tanner said in an email several weeks ago that a change was going to take place but he was not allowed to discuss it until certain things were announced.

Last week the church announced the open house of the Trijillo Peru Temple in June.  In connection with that the church is going to split Tanner's mission and create a new mission.

Depending on where he is at the time, he may be part of the new mission and may not.  Just thought I would let you know this little tidbit of news.)

Well I happened to get transferred this week, and I will find out where I will go tomorrow, when I have our transfer meeting. But i have to admit I am going to miss Cajamarca a lot. I am going to miss the rain and the cold weather. This whole last week, the was not a single day in which it did not rain. And after 6 months of being in Cajamarca I am definetly adapted to wearing a coat or sweater, with my boots for all of the rain and cold weather that we had. Also since this is the area where I have the most time, i have also been able to get to know the members really well. So overall it was really sad to leave Cajamarca.

Right now I am in Chiclayo, in the office of the mission, and ever since I got here at 5pm until now...I have been sweating (sorry a little gross). I have gone from the middle of winter in cajamarca to now being in the middle of summer in Chiclayo. So needless to say I am stoked to find out where I am going, and sad that I am leaving, as well as hoping that my new companion doesnt mind the smell of sweat.

Well next week I will probably send you a picture and will let you know where I am. But for now hope you all have a good week and stay happy.

Enchanted

Jan 19th
This week has been a change in the missionary work for me. This week we were able to work a lot with those members to do a lot more visits, We did some splits and also we visited with a lot of the members. It was much better to work with them, plus we didnt knock so much doors either.

As far as the food, I am still eating a ton of rice everyday for lunch and dinner. But I guess it is a good thing that I am not allergic to nuts anymore, because the pension that we have now is the only person that cooks with nuts! She makes a lot of creams o sauces and in almost every single one of them she puts some nuts in them. But the food is still good, and so far I have not had my throat get selled and I have not gone to the hospital yet. So things are all good now.

Also Here in Cajamarca, it is one of the only citys here in Perú that celebrates carnivales. And it is really big here, pretty much what carnivales means is just big water fight for a whole month straight that everyone plays, and gives people the oportunity to ¨party¨. Here it is so big that people even through paint at people or cars or houses. And the carnivales doesnt even start until the 14th of February, but some kids are starting early and are carrying water guns and water ballons.- Also it is usually just a battle of the sexes, boys vs girls. But for some reason, when anyone sees a really tall white kid that is from the United States...me...everyone just gets him wet (at least they try). So we are now focusing on the roofs and trying to dodge water balloons, rather than looking for someone to teach. But it is actually fun to tempt the kids to try to hit me, but they havent yet.

Right now it is raining pretty hard, and I forget my coat, so I am a little cold right now, but stilly loving the sound of thunder and lightning, and downpouring rain. Hope you all have a good week and stay happy.

Rolling in the Deep

Jan 12th-
Good afternoon to you all. Well this week we got a surprise from the president, in which the sister missionaries in the ward we I am working, were going to change to the other ward. So we had the fun time of moving all there stuff from one room to a different. So now our ward that I am at, only has 4 Elderes, rather than the 6 that we were.

Things here in Cajamarca are really good, and I am loving it. It is the hardest area in the whole mission, but I love it. The members are really good, it is "cold" almost always, and it rains almost always also. It is awesome to be here, but it is hard. But hey, if life were easy it wouldnt be hard. Although, it is still really wiedrd to me, to be working witha coat on sometimes.

Hope you all have a good week, and that you can try to help someone in need this week.

Happy New Year again. Well it has been such a long time since I last wrote you guys that I have so much to say...not really... the only thing that is new, is that there is like a carnival that is going on in the middle of our area which is making it a little dificult to work. Also for p-day today we played soccer today. It is what we do every p-day now, but today I WON!! Wish you all a good week. until next time

The rain Came Down and the Flood Came Up

January 1st-2015
Bueno, Feliz año nuevo!! I hope that you all enjoyed saying goodbye and 2014 and welcomed 2015 in a good way. I once again was a little said when they told me that i cant go to any of the dances, but one day I will be able to dance again! We passed the new year like the last year. Hiding and running from all of the drunk people which is actually fun. Also I was able to go up to our roof at midnight to see all of the fireworks and explosives go off. Then I gladly went back to bed.

Ever since Christmas it has not stopped raining here, and I have been told that it is like that until March. Raining everyday all day. Which I really like because I love rain, but some people dont really like it.

Last week me and my companion had the fun time of helping a lot of people around christmas, we did a lot of service. and It felt good to give or time, and energy to help people in need during the christmas season. To give and not so much recieve. Also on tuesday my companion had his birthday and is oficially 28 now. FYI

Sorry next week I will try to send pictures.

FELIZ NAVIDAD!

December 25th--
Sorry that I didnt have time last week to write you guys, the decided to change our p-day for today for christmas. Also it will happen for New Years also. I wont write on Monday but on Thursday next week also. FYI.

But my new companion is called Elder Quito and he is from Lima, a little town called Paramonga on the outskirts of lima. and he has about 2 months and a week left until he goes home. These past coupld days we have been really busy, mainly because we have doing a lot of service, we have done everything from wedding a garden and hilling corn, to moving moldy furniture up to the roof of the house of a member.

On Tuesday all the 34 missionaries en Cajamarca went to the center where there is a park, and we sang christmas songs for about 1.5 hours. It was really fun, and cool because it was actually cold.

To be honest It didnt even feel like it was christmas today, this year has gone by so fast that it feels like may to me. But it was still good and fun to talk to my family today, even though they reminded me that that was the last time I will skype for christmas.

I hope that you all have a merry Christmas, and that you all remember the real meaning of christmas. I am grateful for this day to think about christ, and everything that he did for me.

It's The Final Countdown!

December 15th-
Well this week has been very interesting and different. On Tuesday we got a visit from President williams and we had our little Meryy Christmas party. We all did some skits as districts, we did the skit of when nefi kills laban to get the plates (see foto). Then we just had a little lunch and watched chirstmas mormon messages for about a half hour, then they left, but it was still pretty fun and cool to see them and have ¨christmas¨ with them early. Then on friday, we had a ward party, where we played sureades, and it was really funny, but not much people went.

But the thing that was best of the week, is that we had a marriage/bautismo for some investigadores of Elder Peabody that we share the area with. We had a marriage bautismo that was really cool, and fun, that took up all of saturday.

But the sad news is that today, Elder Murphy is going to be leaving me and going to Chiclayo. It has been a fun and really hard 4 months with him, since we opened 2 areas, but I guess that it is time for him to be leaving. I dont know who will be my new companion, but he will get here tomorrow night. Oh and Elder Peabody is leaving also...

So overall, it is has been a happy/sad week this past week.
