Happy Birthday to my favorite mother tomorrow! Hope you can have a little fun without me there. We have a member whose birthday is tomorrow, so we might stop by if we dont have anything. Also I will be celebrating by listening to the words of our apostle Russell Nelson, who is visiting our mission on Wednesday. I have known for almost a month but we are a little excited for that. Hopefully he will be speaking in English, or else I wont really be celebrating. He is going to be speaking to every missionary in the mission. All 250 of us.
Things here are good. The kids really love me even though I dont talk to them. I wish you could see the 3 sitting behind me in this cafe trying to read and understand what I am saying. Everyone down here wants to learn english, so my companion makes me teach every Friday at 7:30. I have done it 2 times now and it is not very good. Last friday we had a meeting with just all the white boys with in an hour way of chiclayo, and we talked about stress. It was good, because I go to see all of my peeps from the CCM and share experiences, and in the night the stake had a fiesta (party which down here means dancing) and for the first time in the life I was not told to GO and dance, but yet I was told NOT to go and dance! I almost cried!
That has been one of the hardest things so far, is to adapt of how to deal with stress. Because in the US, when I was stress or mad I would play some music, go on a drive, watch a movie, go dancing, or beat on my pillow. But here I have no car, cant watch movies, no music (except for what I hear in the street) I cant dance, and I dont always have my pillow. But it is all a part of this process of learning.
We are starting a little branch in my area in a small town called Mesones Muro, mainly because we dont have any more space for people in our chapil so that is more work to be done. Other than that I dont really have anything else to say. Just more knocking on doors, walking, teaching, and eating rice everyday! I am on companion exchange right now so I dont have my camera so next week I plan to send pictures. Hopefully you all have a good week!
Though for the week: Why dont pen marks come out of white shirts?
