What up Gringos? I am writing you all, on this happy veterans day which we obviously do not celebrate down here in peru. but Happy Veterans day. My companion needs to go to chiclayo so we are going in the afternoon, hence why I am writing earlier.
So I guess that my explaination last week, was not good enough and people want a little more. I am living a room of a house of a family that has 3 girls and only one of the girls is a member, and that is because my companion baptised and converted her. The food down here is super risky as far as what we can and cannot eat, because of that I do not cook a single meal. We pay someone (the mom that we live with) to make us food everymeal. She is called our pensionista. Also with the food, I am certain that I will gain weight here because I cant eat the healthy stuff. I cant have cervesa, lettuce, pig or strawberries and some weird stuff I dont know. So I eat rice every meal exept for breakfest. and we eat a TON of meat. mostly chicken. Which is why I think a lot of us get sick is from the meat. To be honest I am terrified of my pensionista, she is a big (I mean big) lady that never smiles, even though she only come up to my armpit.
The baptism last week was good, Elder Fernandez and I cleaned the whole church before, luckily it is small. Then we had the baptism, I didnt do anything for it but it is was fun. Then after she tooks out to eat. It might suprise you, but we had chicken! Surprise!
So far in this experience my nerves has been getting pushed to the limit. Because of a couple of things. 1. I hate starting things late or being late to things. and the latino culture does both of those. Por exemple the baptism was suppose to start at 4. we took pictures at 5:30 and the service started at 5:45. 2. I hate being touch unless it is by girls, even then I dont like it sometimes. but they touch so much here. Especially since I am white and they think I am the shiz, even though I dont understand what they are saying. 3. I am not patient, but this work requires a lot! So needless so say, this experience is a hard working, fun, frustrating, emotional experience. until next week peace out.

Thought for the week: Would Nephi had been faithful and good if Laman and Lemuel were not so "wicked"?
