Hear Ye--Hear Ye

Thoughts that were read at his older brother's wedding luncheon on May 15, 2015

I Tanner have recieved the opportunity to be the youngest brother of 4 great siblings, and in this moment I have been asked to give a few words of one of the greatest siblings that anyone could ask for. Taylor is my older brother, and has been by my side for many years. We have had our ups and downs our fight and our hugs, I have been with him on the basketball court, on the mountains, in the cars, in the rivers, in the schools, in churche, in work and in our home. Though all of those times I have been able to see taylor in many different ways. I have been able to feel the love in which he has for everyone. I have been able to see that taylor is always willing to help someone in need and give more than recieve. I have seen him make people happy when they are sad, as well as cracking a good joke here or there. He is the example in which we all need in our lives, and I am sure that as taylor is entering this new stage of his life he will be a example for many other people. Taylor has helped me personaly become a better friend, son and person. Thank you taylor for lifting me up when I was down, helping me when I was in need, and for being the perfect example for everyone. I love ya and I wish you the best in this new stage that you are entering.  Love you favorite brother....Tanner

April 27th--

Well, last tuesday we had our transfer meeting. And right at the very beginning of the meeting, the assistants got up and said. "We have to give 54 missionaries to the new mission that is being formed, and today we have decided and will anounce the first 19 that are going to be in the new mission." I felt that I was going to be one of them. Then they called my name, and anounced my new area, and it will be in the Trujillo Norte Misión. I am in an area called Guadalupe which is just about 1.5 hours from Chiclayo and 2 hours away from Trujillo. And starting the end of June I will have another new president and another mission. After the Transfer meeting, President williams called us into his office, and told us with tears in his eyes "I have never prayed or fasted so much in my life like I have been for the past 4 months, ever since they told me how many missionarys I have to give up. I have been watching you guys for a long time and the lord has called you guys to be the lideres of the new mission. I wish that I could just give up the lazy elderes, but I cant do that. It hurts me to say bye to you guys, but the Lord is calling you to go to the new mission." It was a little sad to see him crying, but it made me feel good. Made me realize just how much he follows the Lord and promptings of the spirt, and even though it make me a little sad to change missions...it will be okay. Because I think I will be able to see the New templo in Trujillo. As well as I might see some of my old friends that I met in the CCM.

My new companion just happens to be, the man that I met in the Manti templo 2 weeks before coming on the mission, the same man that sat next to me in the 11 hour plane ride without watching a movie, the same man that was with me 24/7 in the CCM, the same man that was there to correct me for the first time my spanish. The same man that was with me in Jaen and Cajamarca. Yeah it is the one and only Elder Henry. Everyone was really surprised, but I think we were the most surprised.

Other than that, not much to report, but I will try to send pictures next time. Questions?

Livin On A Prayer

 April 20th--

Howdy ya´ll! Well this week has been a week of good news as well as bad news. For example: Good: my companion has not been sick so we got a lot of work done. Bad: My body hurts because we have worked so hard! Good: I recieved a package from home. Bad: It is already gone and I have sugar covered teeth! :) Good: They are finally making progress on laying down the pavement, we know have sidewalks on a lot of streets, and we will probably get pavement in May. Bad: I have a transfer...

Tomorrow I will once again go to a new area, and it will most likely be my last area. I am a little nervous, because it is a possibility that I might end us going to the new mission that they are going to form in June. However I will go and do whatever is needed of me. With my new companion number 11! Other than that I dont have much to say, but I will give you more details next week when I am in a new area. Have a good week!

Highway Don't Care

April 13th--

Howdy otra vez! This week was different from other weeks. We had a leadership training meeting this week, and I was able to see a lot of my friends, like my CCM companion elder Henry. Unfortunately i am still not use to taking a lot of pictures, so I didnt take any pictures. But in that meeting I learned a lot and had a good time listening to our mission president who I swear is the future Elder Holland, when he talks, you can just feel his power! I have a really good mission president. Also this week we had the opportunity to have a enterviews with our presidnt. I was so scared at first. but he made me feel really wierd in the enterview, we talked about what I am going to do when I get home, about getting married, pretty much we talked about everything that I was not expecting to talk about. But overall it was really fun and a good time.

Other than that, my companion was a little sick, so we didnt leave to visit very much since friday. But overall it was a fun and quick week. Hope you all have a good week, and relisten to general conference, there was a lot of power messages this conference. I listen to them in the mornings (I dont listen to the talks that talk about marriage) and there is a lot of important things for us.

The Cave

April 6th--

Howdy. Happy late easter, and happy late general Conference!! It was a wonderful experience for me as always, to listen to our leaders and profet. My favorite sessions were saturday morning, and also sunday afternoon. However in each session was field with a lot of good stuff. It was also good to hear them anounce 3 new temples. Even though none of them are for Chiclayo, at least we will have 3 more in the world. But it makes me even happier to think that in a couple of months I will see the dedication of the Trujillo (3 hours away from chiclayo) Peru temple in just acouple of months.

This week was pretty normal, as for the progress in the street pavement....not much. They have put acouple of sidewalks up, but still no progress in paving the street. Tomorrow i will be having our monthly training meeting that we have, and so I will be going to chiclayo again to see all the zone leaders. My favorite part about these meetings is that we eat american food for lunch!!! Last month I had chilis for the first time in my life. Needless to see, I learn a lot in those meetings, as well as I get to see my friends....and american food.

Hopefully you all have a good week, and a happy birthday!

Temperature

March 30th--

Howdy ya´ll otra vez! Weeks are going by so fast now. I feel like just yesterday I was in this same seat telling you guys the exact same thing that I am going to say right now. Time is flying!

There still is no progresss in paving the streets, they havent done anything now for about 2 weeks, so it is still a little ugly. It is even worse because the garbage trucks cant get around to pick up garbage, so there are just big smelly piles of garbage in street corners. But I am pretty sure that this week they are going to do something. Peru is still having random weather. It is still really hot here in pomalca, and even though it hasnt rained here this week, it is still raining in other city so much that it is destroying bridges and streets, taking out houses and things like that.

As for something new that happened this week...I ended going to the clinic. because due to the increase amount of dust here in pomalca. I had the good luck of letting a rock get stuck in my eye. So I ended up winning a free trip to chiclayo to get a litle rock out of my eye. My eye is all good now, things a just a little blurry but the doctor said that that should pass soon. I am now trying to tackle my new challenge of eye drops though. They suck!! I hate doing them, they hurt, and my companion has had to strap me down to my bed so that he can do the hard work for me...he is a good companion.

Have a good week. and Happy general conference...GO PROFETS!!

Sweet Nothing

March 23rd--

Howdy ya´ll. Well things here are good in the neighborhood. As for pomalca they still havent finished paving the roads, but they have made huge holes in the streets which is making it hard for us to work and walk. Also as for some weird news, it rained again this week...twice...one was last night. It rained so hard that we now have rivers in the streets and not just holes, also as result of the rain from both times, we have been without power. So it has been hot here in my room without being able to turn on the fan. So the people here in peru are a little freaked out, because we are supposed to be in fall right now without rain, but right now it is raining, and it is hotter than how it was during the summer months. So we shall see how the future turns out during the next couple of weeks. Hope you all have a good week. Sorry it has been a while since I have sent a picture, so I took one and here it is for ya´ll.
